Ways to Pay for Your Program

Cost should not be the reason you put off a career you want. The Beauty Institute works with several funding sources, and most students combine more than one. Here is what is available at our West Palm Beach campus.

Federal financial aid

We participate in federal Title IV aid programs. Grants and loans are awarded based on your FAFSA results for students who qualify.

VA education benefits

Our programs are approved for VA education benefits. See veteran education for what to bring and how certification works.

Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation benefits are accepted. If you are working with a VR counselor, bring your authorization to your admissions appointment.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available to students who qualify. Ask admissions which awards are open for the start date you are considering.

School financing plans

If federal aid does not cover everything, our financing plans let you spread tuition over time instead of paying it all up front.

Emergency relief funds

Past federal relief programs are documented on our CARES Act and HEERF III pages.

How to Apply for Financial Aid, Step by Step

1. Talk to admissions first

Before you file anything, tell us which program you want. Cosmetology, barbering, nails, facials and the full specialist credential differ in length, so the aid picture differs too.

2. Complete the FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid determines your federal eligibility. Ask our financial aid staff for the school’s federal school code so your application reaches us.

3. Submit your documents

Expect to provide photo identification, proof of high school completion or equivalent, and any VA or Vocational Rehabilitation paperwork that applies to you.

4. Review your award with our staff

We go through what you have been offered, what it covers, and what is left. You will not be asked to sign anything before you understand the balance.

5. Choose a plan for the remainder

If a balance remains, we set up a financing plan before your start date so there are no surprises once class begins.

What to Bring to Your Financial Aid Appointment

  • Government-issued photo identification
  • Social Security card
  • High school diploma, transcript or GED equivalent
  • Your FAFSA confirmation, if you have already filed
  • VA Certificate of Eligibility, for those using VA benefits
  • Vocational Rehabilitation authorization, if applicable

Financial Aid FAQs

Does The Beauty Institute accept federal financial aid?

Yes. The Beauty Institute participates in federal Title IV financial aid programs, and federal aid is available to students who qualify. Eligibility is determined by your FAFSA results, not by the school, so the first step is completing the FAFSA and then meeting with our financial aid staff to review what you are eligible to receive.

Do I need to reapply for financial aid every year?

Federal student aid is awarded for one award year at a time, so you file a new FAFSA for each year you are enrolled. Our financial aid staff will remind you when the next filing window opens so your funding does not lapse mid-program.

Do I have to finish the FAFSA before I apply to the school?

No. You can begin your application to The Beauty Institute and your FAFSA in either order, and many students do both in the same week. Applying early simply gives our financial aid staff more time to review your file and explain your options before your program start date.

Are scholarships available to beauty school students here?

Scholarships are available to students who qualify, alongside federal aid and VA benefits. Because scholarship availability changes, ask the admissions office which awards are open for your intended start date rather than relying on a published list.

What if I do not qualify for federal financial aid?

Students who do not qualify for federal aid may still be able to enroll using one of our financing plans. The Beauty Institute offers financing plans so that tuition can be paid over time; our staff will walk you through the options that apply to your program.

Where can I find program cost and outcome information?

Program cost and outcome details are published in our gainful employment disclosures and the school catalog. You can review the cosmetology disclosure, the barber disclosure, and the school catalog before you commit to a program.
